Preattentive Visual Process - Example
This design caught my eye with it's colors; they are bright but aren't overpowering and repelling. The solid yellow shape is cut up by the airplane figure in the foreground, but because the yellow shape is familiar the gestalt principle of closure makes us believe that it is a single yellow shape. Because of the airplanes we can assume that the blue shape is a cloud. The relationship and position of the blue cloud and yellow plane create and interesting counter-shape. Both the solid yellow plane shape and the overlaying detailed white plane help each other pop; they both seem to demand equal attention.
